At this point, Maggie Mae goes back to the address she looked up and uses it to address her mail. Addressing mail means
that you write the name and address of the recipient on the front of the
envelope. This helps the U.S. Postal Service figure out where the mail will go! The name and address go right in the middle of the envelope.
Maggie Mae also wants the U.S. Postal Service to know where to bring the mail back in case she wrote the address wrong, so she includes a return address. A return address is the name and address of the person sending the mail. Some people write out the return address, but Maggie Mae has special stickers made with her return address so she doesn't have to write it every time. The return address goes on the upper left-hand corner of the envelope.
Finally, Maggie Mae asks her mom for a stamp to use to send her mail. A stamp is a sticker that shows you are paying for the U.S. Postal Service to bring your mail to your friend's house. Stamps come with lots of fun pictures. Maggie Mae's mom keeps Disney stamps on hand for Maggie Mae to use.
